Here are some notes taught to me while I was in the WMSCOG. They force you to take you own notes without recording, so these notes are my property. Here is what they teach on the Subject:
We keep the Sabbath Day according to the teaching of the Bible, but we also worship on Tuesday which is the third day of the week. Many Christian Churches now keep Sunday and Wednesday. Because they keep Sunday instead as their Sabbath, Wednesday would be their “third day”. It is like when buttoning your shirt. If you match the first one incorrectly, the rest will as well. Just as they keep the day of the creator incorrectly, they also keep the third day worship incorrectly. The third and seventh day regulation is located in the Old Testament. As we know, many regulations in the new covenant are a reality of the shadow in the Law of Moses. We though celebrate the reality according to the Law of Christ. We can understand the third day regulation through the shadow.
Heb 10:1
The Law of Moses is a shadow of the Law of Christ (Col 2:16-17). You cannot have the shadow without the reality. It is like how the moon is not a source of light, but rather a reflection of the true light. In the Old Testament, the third and seventh day regulation was given in order to cleanse God’s people.
Nu 19:11-13
The Law states that those who became unclean must be cleansed on the third and seventh day. They were even cut off if they failed to do so. As we know, this must be a shadow. Then what is the reality in the Law of Christ? Those who touched a dead body in the Law of Moses had to be cleansed physically, then is it the same now?
Mt 8:21-22
Jesus said “let the dead bury their own dead”. Can a person who is physically dead bury another? No. This must be speaking in spiritual terms. It is those who do not have the promise of eternal life thru the new covenant, mainly the Passover. Jesus said whoever does not partake in his flesh and blood have no life in them meaning they are spiritually dead (Jn 6:53-54)
Eph 2:1-2
We were once dead when we were in the world away from the truth. Then if we touch someone who is not in the truth, will we become unclean? If I were clean and locked myself in an isolated place where I would not encounter unclean people mean I would not have to keep the third and seventh day? Actually, touching a dead body are the sinful thoughts & desires. Then, how is it that we can be cleansed? Let us first look at the shadow
Nu 19:1-9, 12
In order for us to be cleansed, a heifer must be sacrificed and burned into ashes, and sprinkled into the water which cleansed the people. Without the heifer sacrifice, they could not be made clean. Now, let us come to find out what the reality of this is.
Eph 5:26-27
We as God’s people are cleansed through the Word of God. This must be the worship service where we worship God in spirit and in truth and receive the water of life.
Heb 10:22-27
We should draw near to God with washing. Paul said we should continue meeting together. This is in order to be cleansed with the Word. Through the third and seventh worship, we can be cleansed with water of life. But it is not only through the water we are cleansed, but it is also because of the heifer sacrifice. Without the heifer sacrifice, we can not be cleansed. When the Israelites were not made clean continually, they were even cut off from the people. The heifer is very important in our cleansing.
There are many sacrifices in the Old Testament which are shadows. Examples include the Passover lamb and the scapegoat on the Day of Atonement. Many are gender specific in the sacrifice. The Passover lamb had to be a year old male, it could not be a female. The difference in the heifer sacrifice is a heifer is actually a female. There is no such thing has a male heifer. A heifer by definition is a young female cow that has not borne a calf. As we know this heifer is only a shadow.
Heb 10:1-9
God came in the flesh to sacrifice for our sins. Blood of bulls & animals cannot sufficient. What does the animal sacrifice represent?
